Man Vs Nature movie :HAPPY FEET

Happy Feet is an American-Australian computer-animated musical family film, directed and co-written by George Miller in 2006. It was produced at visual effects studio Animal Logic for Warner Bros, Village Road show Pictures and Kingdom Feature Productions. It was released in North American theatres on November 17, 2006.

The movie primarily deals with the life of penguins in Antarctica. Though the movie portrays the unique talent of a penguin and its consequences on it, it also sends through a strong environmental message. One of the main messages preached in this movie is that we should save penguins.

There is increasing emphasis on environmental problems in the Antarctic as things progress . The film shows a group of researchers taking a video of the colony of dancing emperor penguins, and the footage is broadcast globally. After so many arguments, this publicity generated some pressure to stop the commercial overfishing of the Antarctic. Due to overfishing, there was a scarcity in the fishes in the Antarctic region which are a major food source if the penguins. So this in turn affects the food chain in that region.

George Miller, the director of the movie felt that the environmental message was not a major part of the original script, but "In Australia, we're very, very aware of the ozone hole," he said, "and Antarctica is literally the canary in the coal mine for this stuff. So it sort of had to go in that direction. Miller said, "You can't tell a story about Antarctica and the penguins without giving that dimension."

Actor Robin Williams hopes movie fans who helped propel animated family film Happy Feet to the top of the box office will take a minute to consider the dangers of global warming after watching penguins dance. He also insists there is a subtle, serious message behind the fun film, and he hopes it will prompt parents to talk to their kids about environmental and conservation issues.

Williams explains, "One thing that's really happening that the movie doesn't mention is Antarctica is melting both north and south poles are turning into a pool. I hope, in wanting to know more about penguins, kids find out what's really going down. There's large areas that don't exist; areas the size of New Zealand have melted. When the poles melt water rises and large parts of this world will be under water.”

Thus the movie manages to introduce complex issues (food chain disruption) in surprisingly subtle ways (birds start stalking baby penguins because they don't have enough fish to eat)
